Arizona's 2007 Miss National Asia nominee proudly calls herself a Sun Sounds Volunteer
Tempe, AZ, July 9, 2007 – Eventful is a good word to describe this past year for Mesa, Arizona resident, Wendy Lee, who was crowned a Miss Phoenix Chinese Princess last July, a Miss Asia Arizona Princess in March and now a nominee for this month’s Miss National Asia Pageant.
Behind the gown, tiara, makeup and talent is a young woman with an extraordinary passion for helping people through her small business and her work as a Sun Sounds volunteer, which she continues to fulfill in spite of her busy pageant schedule.
“This past year of pageantry has certainly been a whirlwind… I would never have envisioned all this last June,” says Wendy, who reads books and specialty publications for Sun Sounds of Arizona, a radio reading and information access service for people who are living with disabilities that make it difficult or impossible to read print.
“I am extremely excited to be able to share my volunteer work with Sun Sounds in my advocacy platform,” says Wendy, who will take to the stage to talk about Sun Sounds at the second annual Miss National Asia Pageant on July 14, 2007 at the Palace of Fine Arts Theater in San Francisco.
Wendy Lee grew up in San Jose, CA, attended the University of Southern California (USC) as an English major and plans to return to school to pursue a law degree. She is currently working as an independent medical insurance broker.

Sun Sounds of Arizona, established in 1979, is a radio reading and information access service for individuals who are living with disabilities that make it difficult or impossible to read print. It is a community outreach service with more than 500 volunteers, that is part of Rio Salado College and KJZZ with affiliate stations located in Flagstaff, Tucson and Yuma. For eligible persons, Sun Sounds of Arizona is available free of charge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using special radios, designated cable systems, telephone and the internet.
