Sun Sounds of Arizona Receives Generous Donation from Longtime Listener’s Estate

Tempe, AZ, April 17, 2007 - Recently, Sun Sounds of Arizona received a generous gift from a long-time listener who included Sun Sounds of Arizona in his estate plans.

Sun Sounds is one of 18 non-profit organizations that will benefit from his generosity.  He chose to donate a part of his estate to Sun Sounds as a way of giving back for the years of services he enjoyed.

“I recently finished my estate planning and included Sun Sounds too,” says Mary Ellen Stepanich, who reads the Christian Science Monitor on Tuesday evenings and has been volunteering her time to Sun Sounds for the last six years.

“The process was relatively easy and now, I have peace of mind in knowing that my estate will care for my family and favorite charities the way I want it to after I’m gone,” says Mary Ellen.

Charitable estate gifts play a significant role in Sun Sounds’ operating budget, giving it the resources to purchase all of the books, magazines, and newspapers that volunteers read every day.  They help Sun Sounds develop, purchase and maintain the tools to record volunteer voices and to transmit its signal to listeners.  They make Sun Sounds available free of charge to those who need it most, but cannot afford to give.
